A species of rose native to North America naturally occurring in prairies, meadows and open woodlands. Almost thornless rose with showy pink flowers provides a pleasant fragrance. Berry-like rosehip fruits turn bright red in late summer. Popular with birds and a variety of wildlife.  Spreads by rhizomatous roots.
